Legislative Public Forums

Fall of 2015 Local City Elections:

We are once again partnering with the League of Women Voters in offering local candidate Forums.

Tuesday Oct 13th- Mayoral Candidates for Waterloo

Thursday Oct 15th- All Candidates for Cedar Falls (Mayoral and City Council)

Thursday Oct 22nd- Waterloo City Council Candidates

All forums will be held in the city council chambers. This event is free and open to any resident of the Cedar Valley.

Spring of 2015 Legislative Forums

We, along with the League of Women Voters and many other great local sponsors, welcome community support and participation in our series of 5 forums in 2015. These forums are intended to be an education and communication process for all of us—the public and the legislators.

All forums are at AEA267 on Cedar Heights Drive, Cedar Falls and are free and open to the public.


Dates, times and Topics for 2015:

Friday, January 30: 4:30-6:30 PM – Education

Saturday, February 14: 10 AM – Noon –  Workforce

Friday, February 27: 4:30-6:30 PM –  Criminal Justice

Saturday, March 14: 10 AM- Noon – Environment

Friday, March 27:  4:30 – 6:30 PM – Budget

What you should expect each time:

Agenda for Legislative Public Forums
1. Opening comments from legislators
2. Remarks from three people concerning topic of forum
3. Responses from Legislators
4. Update ( one speaker from Senate and one from House)
5. Questions from audience

We understand that we will sometimes share different opinions. However, it is the expectation of the Legislative Public Forum Committee that we treat everyone with respect and interact in a civil way.
