About the Fireworks Festival

The Cedar Valley  Jaycees are proud to announce that the 2014 Fireworks Festival will be held  Saturday July 5th at the National Cattle Congress Grounds. The Cedar Valley Jaycees are excited to partner with the National Cattle Congress to provide the best fireworks festival in Waterloo, with the fireworks show beginning around 10:00 p.m. The Cedar Valley  Jaycees Fireworks Festival is one of the few community-based fireworks displays in the Cedar Valley. With no admission fee, the Fireworks Festival has drawn up to 30,000 people to Waterloo and encourages festival attendees of all ages, socioeconomic statuses, and backgrounds to come together in one location to celebrate our countries independence.

As always, the Cedar Valley  Jaycees will provide plenty of family, friendly pre-fireworks excitement with free, live music.

The Cedar Valley  Jaycees have been involved with coordinating the Fireworks Festival since at least 1995. At that time the festival was a collaboration with now Main Street Waterloo. In 2002 the Cedar Valley  Jaycees became the sole organization in charge of planning and implementing the festival. Known as one of the largest fireworks displays in Eastern Iowa, the event is completely run and staffed by volunteers and is the second largest project run by the Cedar Valley  Jaycees.

The festival is paid for through sponsorships and donations from community businesses and individuals. The Jaycees are currently looking for the community’s support to provide an event of this caliber. Any profit made by the festival goes to better the festival for future years. Sponsorships and donations are being accepted and can be sent to PO Box 245, Waterloo, IA 50704 or can be deposited at any Farmers State Bank in Waterloo or Cedar Falls. Please see below information on how you can help become a sponsor for this event.
